The Journey of Hope is a cross-country bicycle trek beginning in San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA and ending together with all teams in Washington, D.C. The event raises funds and awareness for people with disabilities. Simply put, the Journey of Hope is a ride with a purpose. Make no mistake; this is not a simple ride. The Journey of Hope is about many things. It is about challenging the norm. It is about serving our communities. It is about finding out more about ourselves than we ever imagined. It is about having a dream. It is about a mission. It is about hope. The Alpha Sigma Chapter has sent brothers on the Journey of Hope the past two summers and is sending four brothers in the summer of 2010. This is giant task for the chapter, each brother is required to raise $5,000 prior to getting on the bike in San Francisco or Seattle.

Hello, my name is Bentley Plaskett and I am currently a sophomore at the University of Tennessee majoring in Economics. I'm from Murfreesboro, TN and have lived in middle Tennessee my entire life. Recently I have been accepted to the Journey of Hope, Pi Kappa Phi's biggest annual philanthropy. I will be joining close to 100 fellow Pi Kappa Phi brothers from all over the country in a joint mission to raise funds and awareness for people with disabilities.
